2009 Photos: Birds, Butterflies, Beautyberries, Bullfrogs, Bears and More
It's been a busy year -- little time for pictures -- but I have managed to snap a few. As always, I'm blessed to spend much of my time in places where we get to see a bit of wildlife, and I love sharing it.

Carolina Box Turtle
I spotted this little guy crossing the road early in the morning late in July, so I asked it to pose for a few pictures. I've always called them just "box turtles" but apparently the correct name is the "CAROLINA" box turtle. We have many low-lying places where water settles most of the year, so we see these turtles even though we're so close to the ocean.
